Job Profile
The company is searching for a Lab Technician (TIG Division) who will play a key role in the development and support of new and existing products.
Work closely with engineers and other lab technicians for testing, validation, and quality improvements of various power sources.
Perform required lab tests and maintain all applicable documentation including Engineering, Reliability, and Third-Party testing.
The ability to diagnose and correct issues arising within prototypes and released products is expected.
Also, work with manufacturing to assist with solving problems related to the production of existing products, and with service-related issues.
Education Level
- 2-year Technical Degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, or related field – College/University
Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering product development or support (preferred)
- Knowledge of IEC and CSA certification requirements and hands-on experience with IEC and CSA testing and technical report preparation
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to build prototype units with limited documentation
- Ability to read and understand schematics and wiring diagrams
- Ability to set up and use various vendors of oscilloscopes
- Assist with maintaining and improving the lab areas
- Set up and conduct engineering tests (heat tests, abnormal tests, third-party certification tests, and PCBA validation tests)
- The ability to diagnose and correct issues arising in units from production, lab, and reliability tests required
- Work with production, service, engineering, and marketing to solve field issues related to reliability and customer satisfaction
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to perform a broad range of simultaneous duties
- The ability to provide program and support of Microprocessor, PLC, or LabVIEW-based applications is a plus
- Ability to write accurate and concise reports is required
- Candidate must be a team player with a positive attitude, high motivation, and excellent interpersonal skills who works well in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Good understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of products and ERP systems
- Limited travel may be required
- The individual should have a good understanding of inverter topologies
