Job Profile

The company is searching for a Laser Cut Technician who will be responsible for ensuring that the laser cut process and equipment are aligned with the production requirements ensuring the least amount of machine downtime is achieved.

Responsible candidate needs to champion; the laser cut process to achieve customer requirements, and the preventative maintenance of the equipment and fixtures.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience

Work Experience

• Minimum 2 years or combination experience as a Tool & Die Maker or Controls Technician (required)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Trumpf cutting laser cells (required)
• 2 years of experience in CNC controls experience
• 2-5 years of experience with robots and PLC control systems in a robotic welding process environment, preferably in an industrial automotive setting.
• RS Logic 500 PLC training (required)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist in training of associates.
• Focus on zero defects.
• Maintain program database and backup of machines.
• Optimize and create laser-cut programs.
• Participate in continual improvement of quality methods, equipment performance, and product quality
• Perform nozzle tip changes and replacement of components.
• Perform repairs on mechanical components such as guides, spindles, gears, belts, etc.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Able to understand G programming code (an asset)
• Basic preventative maintenance from Trumpf (preferred)
• Knowledge of Roll Forming systems and Post Laser Cutting experience (preferred)
• Quality control and SPC knowledge
• Trumpf laser cut cells and associated programs
