Job Profile

The company is hiring a Laser Operator who will operate a laser machine, that cuts parts out of raw steel.

Check parts to blueprints, use calipers and micrometers, pull parts, and stack on skids.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

• Previous experience in a related role (preferred)
• Previous experience leading employees (required)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety guidelines and requirements.
• Check the first and last pieces for quality. Ensure parts are free from blemishes.
• Clean the machine during and before the end of the shift.
• Make adjustments such as laser offsets and alignment.
• Make sure all tools are returned to the shadow board.
• Operate overhead crane.
• Perform laser startup and PMs of the machine.
• Stock parts in a safe and orderly manner.
• Use pin gauges, calipers, mics, fabervision, and CMM to validate parts to print.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Able to make fast, accurate decisions relating to the production process and equipment.
• Basic understanding of blueprints (required)
• Quality standards must be strictly adhered to, so attention to detail is extremely important.

Physical Demands

• Position is subject to substantial movements of the wrists, hands, or fingers.
• Required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as operating machines such as lathes where the seeing job is within arm’s reach.
• Required to reach or lift.
• Required to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods.
• Subject to inside environmental conditions: protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
