Job Profile

The company is seeking a Lead Engineer who will form an integral part of the Materials and Processing Engineering department, working within the Subsea Production Systems product company.

The Lead Engineer is required to take full ownership of all associated activities with the role outlined below, and in doing so secure best-in-class delivery.

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering or Welding from an accredited college/University with significant work experience within subsea materials engineering.
  • Specific experience or certification in Non-Destructive Examinations (NDE) techniques (preferred)

Work Experience

  • The candidates are required to have a combination of education and work experience.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develop and update engineering guidelines, specifications, and best practices within MDE, Welding, Metallurgy/Fabrication processes, and support in aligning such processes within the Global Subsea Production Systems and Services (SPS&S) MPE team
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and support on topics associated with NDE, Welding, Metallurgy, and Fabrication processes within the MPE team and wider engineering community.
  • Potential to act as EPC/System project Materials Engineering lead, if called upon.
  • Ensure compliance initiatives are implemented and training requirements are met.
  • Review and perform technical evaluations of contract requirements, design codes, manufacturing standards, and specifications,
  • Customer contact – writing technical clarifications/exceptions and attending meetings on materials selection and manufacturing,
  • Definition of requirements – writing of technical reports and specifications,
  • Provide materials selection and fabrication advice during the design phase,
  • Support to supply chain, attendance at audits and pre-production meetings,
  • Review of vendors’ special process procedures, such as e.g. NDE and welding procedure specifications, for use in the manufacturing of subsea equipment,
  • Review and disposition of concessions and deviations.

Other Requirements

  • Familiar with relevant industry standards (NORSOK, ISO, ASME, API, ASTM, DNV, etc.) as well as design and fabrication requirements for subsea products.
  • Good English language skills (written and oral)
  • In-depth understanding of NDE, Welding, metallurgy, and fabrication processes such as forming, forging, heat treatment, etc.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, as required
