Job Profile
The company is looking for a Lead Fitter Welder who will be responsible for leading and supervising a team of fitters and welders in the fabrication and assembly of metal components.
Ensures that all work is completed safely, according to quality standards, and within the set timeframes.
Help coordinate daily activities, provide technical guidance, and ensure that all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
Education Level

Work Experience
- 5+ years of experience in welding and fitting, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
Duties/Responsibilities
Leadership/Supervision-
- Lead and help supervise a team of fitters and welders, ensuring they follow proper welding techniques and safety protocols.
- Provide training and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills and productivity.
- Delegate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure the completion of projects on schedule.
Welding/Fitting-
- Perform hands-on welding and fitting tasks when needed, including welding, cutting, grinding, and assembly of metal components.
- Oversee the setup, maintenance, and safe operation of welding equipment.
Quality Control-
- Inspect work and materials to ensure adherence to specifications and industry standards.
- Ensure that all welds and fittings meet the required quality and safety standards.
- Review blueprints, drawings, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to verify that specifications and requirements are clear.
Safety Compliance-
- Enforce strict safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct safety briefings and ensure the team uses personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Monitor the workspace for potential hazards and take corrective actions as necessary.
Coordination/Communication-
- Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other team leads to ensure smooth workflow.
- Resolve any technical issues or challenges that arise during the welding or fitting process.
- Prepare and maintain reports on work progress, quality control, and resource usage.
Work Environment-
- The role involves working in a fabrication shop, that is a loud manufacturing environment and is not climate-controlled (conditions can be hot or cold).
- Work may require standing, bending, lifting, and the ability to climb (including ladders and lifts).
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of welding and fitting tools, machines, and safety equipment.
- Must be able to pass an on-site pressure-tested weld test.
- Proficiency in welding techniques (MIG), blueprint reading, and metal fabrication
- Strong understanding of welding codes, standards, and specifications
- Use of heavy machinery, and ability to drive vehicles and equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding environments.
- Comfortable working with high temperatures, noise, and potential hazards.
