Job Profile
The company is looking for a Lead Maintenance Technician who will plan and perform all maintenance functions, including but not limited to preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all equipment throughout the plant.
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain all plant equipment in proper operating condition by applying safe workplace practices, following preventive maintenance programs and procedures, and developing/documenting best-industry practices.
Education Level

Work Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience (required)
- 3-5 years of related experience or training, demonstrating the ability to identify and perform necessary repairs and ensure scheduled production runs.
- 5-7 years of experience in related fields working with hydraulics, pneumatics, basic electrical, pumps, and plumbing.
- Must have experience with the use of forklifts, man-lifts, and various rigging equipment in the performance of maintenance activities.
- Must have experience with the performance of lockout/tag out and permit confined space programs related to maintenance activities.
- Must have experience with general air pneumatics, including air compressor operation and maintenance, regulator replacement, solenoid valve replacement, 2-way and 3-way valve, tubing installation, pneumatic pumps, and general system troubleshooting.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Documents result through completed work orders based on schedule and priority or as required.
- Oversees workflow and sets priorities within the maintenance shop. Plan and schedule all in-house repairs. Lead maintenance team and oversaw outside contractors making repairs to the facility.
- Performs diagnostic evaluation on equipment and makes repairs when needed. Ensures that repairs are performed safely, properly, and in the shortest amount of time possible to maintain the highest level of operational readiness.
- Performs light electrical maintenance on all plant equipment to include 480V/240V/120V/24V power systems.
- Provide training, direction, and assist Technicians, Operators, and Laborers as needed.
- Vigorously support Stericycle’s commitment to Safety by complying with safety regulations and maintaining clean and orderly work areas.
- Safely performs or guides preventive, corrective, and scheduled maintenance daily on a variety of machinery within the plant. This machinery includes –
- Fire tube boiler and ancillary equipment, steam delivery systems, water softeners, and other water treatment equipment, air handling equipment, commercial washers, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and conveyor systems.
- Incinerator process equipment/systems maintenance, including burners, CEMs, high temperature refractory, controls, PLC, combustion air blowers, pressure controls, and conveyance systems.
- Steam turbine and electrical generator systems.
- Air pollution control devices include bag houses, evaporative coolers, acid absorbers, and carbon beds.
- General air pneumatics, including air compressor, regulators, solenoid valves, 2-way and 3-way valves, tubing installation, pneumatic pumps, and related systems.
- Performs other related duties as required or requested.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Good knowledge and understanding (preferred)
Preferred Experience
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Boiler License, Electrical License, Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) certification or Welding Certification (preferred)
- Experience with light programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Journeyman level experience.
- Knowledge of how to maintain a hydraulic system and the ability to read hydraulic flow diagrams.
- The ability to weld stainless steel or higher alloys and to operate a Tig welder.
Certifications/Licenses
- Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) certification
- PLC Certification
- Boiler, welding, or Electrical Certification
