Job Profile

The company is seeking a Lead Person who will lead a maintenance crew that floats between Hickory, Statesville, and Denver Quarries.

The preferred candidate has leadership capabilities and is well versed in welding, torching/ cutting, fabrication, and quarry plant maintenance.

Educational Qualification

  • The applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

  • The candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience; preferably in the aggregates industry

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist with equipment repairs and housekeeping as needed
  • Coach employees and provide constructive feedback for improved productivity
  • Complete daily production, safety, and maintenance reports accurately
  • Demonstrate a positive, upbeat attitude and energy level toward teammates, peers, and customers
  • Encourage employees to participate in Guardian Angel activities
  • Establish and maintain effective communications within all areas of the operation
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations in accordance with Martin Marietta policies
  • Must make regular inspections for safety, housekeeping, and mechanical issues in all areas of the operation
  • Responsible for maintaining the quality of all products
  • Responsible for organizing and overseeing employees accomplish maintenance objectives
  • Work closely with the Foreman to ensure implementation of scheduled maintenance on all equipment
  • Other duties as requested

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Displays traits associated with being a leader including adaptability and resilience
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work irregular shifts, weekends, and overtime as required
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Strong mechanical and welding knowledge
  • Understand team-based leadership
