Job Profile

The company is seeking a Licensed Electrician to join its team.

Education Level

  • Possession of Construction Electrician 309A or Industrial Manufacturing Electrician 442A by the Ontario College of Trades or Red Seal Certification
  • Must be 18 years or older

Work Experience

  • Possess work-related experience (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Applying skills and knowledge of electrical schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, industrial control systems, programmable logic controls, electrical construction, high voltage power, distribution, and instrumentation
  • Assists in the installation, calibration, and start-up of new equipment
  • Complies with corporate policies and procedures related to Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory (FSQR)
  • Diagnose the cause of malfunctions or equipment failures
  • Environmental: Understands and proactively avoid environmental impact and potential risk to the businesses
  • Executes activities of day-to-day operations of the assigned area, following policies and procedures related to personnel safety and food/feed safety
  • Food Safety: Directly monitors risks associated with products. Ensures HACCP/FDA requirements are met in all food and feed processes. Understands food safety fundamentals and completes safety inspections and housekeeping audits
  • Health and Safety: Enforces a culture of zero fatality, injury and illness
  • Operates motorized vehicles with components used to move or lift products, equipment, or materials within and amongst destinations (warehouses, storage yards, plant factories, railroad stations, offices, etc.)
  • Performs daily tasks by applying skills and knowledge of one or more products, processes, areas, or machines. Has a thorough understanding of the process, and workflow and works on assignments where judgment is required to resolve problems and make recommendations.
  • Performs preventative and corrective electrical maintenance
  • Performs skilled electrical tasks to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, or modify complex industrial equipment, processes, or systems.
  • Works with minimal to no supervision and monitors the quality of own work
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs,
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold,
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
  • Basic use of a computer and typing skills
  • dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to operate machinery or industrial equipment with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to read blueprints and layout drawings
  • Able to perform maintenance trades including electrical, machinist, welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication, rigging systems, gearbox and bearing, maintenance, lubrication, pumps, and piping systems
  • Automation control, boiler and steam systems training and experience
  • Basic knowledge of industrial safety, food safety, and environmental regulations with an absolute commitment to safety
  • Knowledge of the Maintenance Reliability process (predictive and preventative maintenance) and Predictive Technologies
  • Knowledge of SAP or CMMS
  • Possession of Industrial Manufacturing Electrician 442A by the Ontario College of Trades or Red Seal certification
  • Previous experience with MRO (Maintenance Repair Ops) or MRP (Material Requirement Planning)
  • Prior experience in production-related work
  • Strong problem-solving skills, good written and verbal communication skills
  • Welding certification or other trade experience
