Job Profile
The company is hiring a Louvers Product Engineer who will be responsible for supporting our customers, drafters, and sales teams with engineered design calcs/sketches that meet structural engineering requirements.
Be designing product attachment points along with the necessary hidden vertical beam supports into a variety of substrates.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Equivalent engineering with an emphasis in Structural Analysis from a college/university
Work Experience
- Experience with building code requirements including AMCA, Miami Dade, UL, ETL, TDI, IBC, FBC, etc.
- Familiarity with the accreditation process with 3rd party companies
- Understands design for manufacturing (DFM) regarding limitations of Extrusion, Bending, Welding, and Assembly processes
Duties/Responsibilities
- Able to apply fundamental engineering theories, mathematics, mechanics, and physical science concepts to the job design specifications
- Analyze and design the most cost-effective design with ease of installation for our customers
- Demonstrate the ability to work in team environments, good written/oral communicational skills, flexibility, and adaptability to customer change requirements
- Need to conceptualize, sketch, calculate the necessary structural requirements, document, and work with the drafters to design job orders accordingly
- Periodically, provide customer technical information regarding products, materials, properties, or mfg. advantages and limitations
- Present design reviews to sales to ensure customer concerns have been addressed
- Recommend necessary product design improvements and cost-down initiatives
- Work with our Sales and engineering teams to analyze submitted job orders to ensure we have a clear scope of work with all supporting documentation and site drawings
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- 1% Travel
- AutoCAD or Inventor skills a plus
- Efficiency utilizing software tools such as RISA, Mathcad, Adapt Builder, Excel, or equivalents
- Knowledge in the HVAC business including pressure drop, free area, impact, wind-driven rain, etc.
- Project management skills with high attention to detail
