Job Profile

The company is seeking a Machine Operator who will play a key role in the manufacturing process of Chart’s products.

Operate and set up a CNC Plasma, CNC Waterjet, and Plate Blaster machine.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have a High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent

Work Experience

• Possess work-related experience/training (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Ability to operate overhead cranes/hoists and forklifts
• Ability to troubleshoot multiple machines
• Inspect and perform minor maintenance on all assigned machines
• Maintain a neat and orderly workstation with equipment in safe operating condition
• Maintain assigned shop equipment and hand tools
• Maintain required production records
• Observe and practice safety procedures and policies
• Safe operation of equipment
• Setup, operate and monitor multiple pieces of equipment
• Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Familiarity with measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, tape measures
• Familiarity with the use of hand tools
• Previous experience with various types of metals
• Previous machine/equipment operation

Work Environment

• Exposure to chemical cleaning solutions and their odors
• Exposure to metal cutting and welding odors
• Exposure to occasional flying debris
• Exposure to overhead objects
• Frequent carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs., occasional heavier lifting
• Frequent pushing, pulling, and handling of materials
• Frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and occasional crawling
• May involve exposure to temperature extremes
• Required use of safety glasses with side shields, ANSI-approved steel-toed safety shoes, welding helmets, and hard hats, (in designated areas)
