Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED combined with or 1 to 3 months of related experience or training
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
Work Experience
- Possess work-related experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Accurately measures and checks parts for compliance
- Actively monitors the condition of the product being produced
- Ensures adequate supply of component stock is at station to run machines
- Fills out production reports and labels products as needed
- Lifts, positions, and removes workpieces from machines to assist in assembly, forming, fitting, and welding
- Loads, stacks, and transports stock and work in process
- Picks up, and cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment after use
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Work Environment
- Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally exposed to vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Physical Demands
- Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
- Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to walk and climb or balance.
