Duties/Responsibilities
- 1st piece inspection (check first piece/pieces per blueprints and BOMs)
- Discusses errors in diagrams or production orders with the supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems.
- Keeps work area clean and orderly
- Moves control to position tool and workpiece about each other and to set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut
- Observes operation of the machine and verifies conformity of machined workpiece to specifications
- Positions and secures workpieces in holding devices, machine tables, chuck, centers, or fixtures
- Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications and tool instructions
- Requires ability to read blueprints and precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers
- Selects, positions, and secures tools in the tool holder
- Setup, layout, and operate various CNC lathes or mills
Routine Work Schedule-
- Adjusts, trim,s and fitting parts to close tolerances
- Follows visual aids (standard work) to ensure work is correct
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition – 5S
- Make up cartons, print labels, insert protective packing material, seal finishing product
- Meet efficiency rates
- Must be flexible to rotate job assignments within various work cells
- Perform quality checks to ensure quality specifications are met
- Performs any assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions
- Set up and Operate 3 and 5-axis CNC milling centers and CNC lathes
- Work within all safety guidelines and wear all required PPE
- Performs related duties as assigned by supervision
