Job Profile

The company is hiring a Machine Operator who will operate various equipment in the metal prep area to feed parts to weld and fabrication.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Begin to instruct others and develop trouble-shooting skills.
  • Begin to learn from others and develop trouble-shooting skills.
  • Complete the First Piece Inspection sheet on new setups as required.
  • Complete Operator TPM and 5-S checks daily.
  • Comply with all Safety guidelines/procedures implemented by the company.
  • Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality.
  • Inspect all tooling before use as required for good quality.
  • Keep machines in good repair.
  • Learn from other senior operators and begin to develop trouble-shooting skills.
  • Make tooling offset changes as needed to ensure part quality.
  • May read and interpret blueprints (product-specific).
  • Operate plate roll, CNC torch tables, and other CNC machines with no assistance. Inspect, clean, deburr, and package parts as required by job traveler.
  • Perform changeover and set-ups on repeat production parts.
  • Perform machine adjustments, and minor maintenance and lubrication.
  • Perform tool and insert changes.
  • Utilizes MS Office products to document and track improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Machine Tool Technology training.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, the ability to read a tape measure/caliper.
  • SAP experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.
  • May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
  • May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.
  • May work indoors and outdoors as needed.
  • Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see constantly. Must be able to walk, write, and type frequently.
  • Work surfaces may include concrete.
