Work Experience

• 1+ years of working in a manufacturing environment as an Extrusion Machine Operator
• Experience and willingness to work 12-hour rotating schedules, including every other weekend

Duties/Responsibilities

• Able to inspect and recognize defective products and make machine adjustments to correct the cause of defects
• Completes appropriate end-of-shift paperwork, accounting for crewing time, machine time, and production quantities
• Consistently and safely operates machines at or above standard levels of operation, including waste, quality, efficiency, and utilization
• Mechanical aptitude, demonstrated problem-solving skills, and effective communication skills – written and verbal are required
• Observes all housekeeping, standard work, and safety guidelines
• Provide innovative solutions for production issues
• Provides support and guidance to less experienced personnel
• Troubleshoot, identify, and correct machine-related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to perform quality checks and have an understanding of production measurement tools
• Ability to show up for work before shift and be prepared to get the day going on time
• Analytical and math skills
• Comfortable wearing PPE such as hairnets, beard-nets, steel-toed shoes/boots, ear protection, and bump caps when required
• Excellent communication skills, detailed record keeping per the prescribed frequency
• Knowledge of product quality standards
• Manual dexterity
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting experience working with Extrusion Machines

Work Environment

• Exposed to loud noise, dust, and vibrations
• Follows safety procedures and wears protective gear
• May work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
• Operates heavy machinery for long periods
• Works in factories or manufacturing facilities
