Job Profile
The company (Pratt & Whitney) is hiring a Machine Operator I who will operate various production machines. Machines may include a washer, shot peen (GASP – gravity accelerated shot peen), furnace, water & air flow, electrode assembly, laser weld, tack weld, laser ablation, tape & wax, x-ray, bake, and detailer, etc.
Perform routine operations.
Work on the production line you will produce blades and or vanes as well as perform all quality checks.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- No previous manufacturing experience or education
Duties/Responsibilities
- Clock labor in Solumina, perform Daily Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM), and document results
- Frequently move about the machine line to operate various manufacturing equipment (approximately 90% of the time), bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and transporting product or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds
- Keep equipment and work area clean (5S).
- May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skills – Responsibilities are not limited to the listed items above and can be changed or modified based on skill level, proficiency, and overall performance.
- Perform daily standard work and perform complex operations successfully and adhere to standard work and all work instructions while performing tasks
- Read and interpret process sheets, gage, Deburr, and clean parts, make minor offset changes (if required), change setups and document information on check sheets, keep dimensional data on run charts, frequently utilize measuring devices, and assess product acceptance based on blueprint specification(s), run all equipment in the entire work loop and produce product per standard work
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.
