- Demonstrated expertise in a particular machine type, or working on a single-purpose machine.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Operators ensure proper setup of machines to yield quality parts conforming to customers’ designed tolerances.
- Perform all work following established standards and safety procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring proper documentation is entered on the manufacturing planning and paperless timecard system.
- Understand and follow written instructions, sketches, drawings, and documents.
- Use precision measuring instruments to check tolerances and quality of parts.
- Work under direct oversight.
- Works in a team environment to meet daily production goals using engine lathes, milling machines, punch press, forming press, shear, press brake, expander, or other machinery to produce high-quality details to flow into the assembly value streams.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Basic understanding of manufacturing planning and sketches.
- Knows when to stop and ask for clarification.
- Required to perform shop mathematics associated with machining operations.
- Requires familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments, and good manual dexterity.
- Understand proper setup and use of tooling associated with machines.
Work Environment
- Demonstrate proper and safe operation of equipment, and personal protective equipment, including but not limited to, safety glasses/full face shield, hearing protection, heat reflective body garments, and gloves as required
Physical Demands
- Performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing, and handling of material.
