Job Profile
The company is seeking a Machine Operator II who will operate multiple machine tools to fabricate metal or plastic components, and make approximately half of the setup independently.
Educational Qualification
- The applicants should have a minimum of 1-year Vocational-technical Training or equivalent experience
Work Experience
- The candidates should have related work experience.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Completes all proper and necessary steps to set up own machine
- Follows safety policies and initiatives and is responsible for own safety
- Maintains a clean, orderly work area, ensuring TDW safety standards are maintained
- Participates in Corrective and Preventative Safety initiatives and investigations of incidents
- Performs necessary machine shop math computation
- Produces parts from raw materials in bars or flatforms, casting and forging materials, ferrous and non-ferrous metals and plastics using various machine tools, assorted hand tools, measuring devices, and tool steels and carbides
- Reports unsafe working conditions and hazards in a timely manner
- Self-inspects parts to ensure all specifications are met before sending parts to the next process,
- Shapes and threads parts to meet blueprint and instruction specifications
- Supports company quality initiatives and policies
- Works from blueprints, WPS manuals, sketches, and oral instructions to plan and layout work,
- Works with and completes job order forms
- Participates in Lean initiatives and process improvements
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to make necessary machine shop math computation
- Ability to read blueprints and work to drawing tolerances
- Ability to set up feeds, speeds, tools, and measuring devices
- Ability to use all precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, to perform an in-process inspection of own work
- Displays a solid degree of versatility, knowledge, and professionalism
- Meets required experience, skill, and behavior competencies to make Machine Operator II → Senior Machine Operator transition
