Job Profile
The company is seeking a Machining Associate I who will operate CNC machines that manufacture metal parts and materials.
Maintains CNC machines and related equipment to ensure that systems run smoothly with assistance from on-site leadership.
Responsible for escalating issues to the appropriate level if problems arise while operating the machine.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Experience
- 1+ years of experience operating CNC machines
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Deburr parts per specification requirements using hand-held power tools.
- Follow established safety and environmental policies, procedures, and methods applicable to the work area.
- Inspect parts to ensure they meet quality standards and make necessary adjustments to machine settings.
- Load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
- Maintain and troubleshoot the CNC machines as needed
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine machine set-up and production methods.
- Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate a large number of parts.
- Set up and operate CNC machines (Fadal and Mori Seiki) to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc.
- Supervise the machines while tasks are executed and ask site leadership for help to make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach.
- Ability to learn skills in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools.
- Ability to learn to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Ability to work and train from verbal and written instructions.
- Knowledge of machine setup, computer programming, and CAD/CAM (preferred)
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to repeatedly load and unload parts from machinery
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work for extended periods of time at a workstation while sitting
- Ability to use hands and fingers for detailed work over extended periods of time
