Job Profile

The company is searching for a Machinist who will be involved in the machining or processing of metal parts by operating industrial machine tools, equipment, or systems in a machine shop.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants may be required a High School Diploma

Work Experience

• Possess work-related experience (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Check and inspect operation against predetermined tolerances.
• Maintain machine and work area in a clean and safe manner.
• Maneuver large, awkward, or heavy parts manually or with a crane.
• Setup and read micrometers and calipers
• Set up, operate, and tend vertical lathes and milling machines used to process components.
• Work from process sheets, blueprints, or other written/verbal instructions given by the supervisor to perform production tasks.
• Work in other areas or departments as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to convert fractions to decimals
• Accuracy/Reliability
• Average math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals.
• Consistently stand for the entire shift
• Knowledge of basic machining practices and materials is a plus, as is general mechanical knowledge
• Maneuver large, awkward, or heavy parts manually or with a crane.
• Simple oral communication skills; ability to read and comprehend instructions and complete simple logs and reports
• Work scheduled hours and comply with the company’s timekeeping policy and all other company policies
• Work with others and be a team player
