Job Profile

The company is seeking a Machinist who will play a key role in the manufacturing process of Chart’s products with the fabrication of parts and tools.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience

  • Possess 2+ years of experience as a machinist
  • 3+ years of CNC Pipe bending experience specifically on schedule 5 and 10 pipe
  • Previous press brake or related CNC experience is preferred
  • Experience in cost estimating and material needs

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Applies knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures
  • CNC programming experience and familiarity with ISO procedures preferred
  • Complete documentation, electronic or paper, on all work performed
  • Designs and fabricates fixtures, as needed
  • Fabricates and modifies parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines
  • Machines parts to specifications using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders
  • Maintains a clean work area and practices general housekeeping standards
  • Measures, examines, and tests completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications
  • Performs all tasks to ISO standards and requirements
  • Understands and adheres to established safety and quality procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Able to work with both engineering and production staff
  • Attention to detail essential
  • Proven ability to identify, reason, and problem-solve moderate to complex issues Basic math skills (weight measurement, volume, distance, multiplication, and division)
  • Proven self-starter and ability to work independently
  • Read and interpret blueprints and design sketches

Work Environment

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance.
  • Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision.
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.
  • The loud noise level in the work environment.
