The company is looking for a Machinist to join its team.
Education Level
- High School Diploma, or equivalent (required)
- Applicable Trade School (preferred)
Work Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a machinist or machine operator
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to analyze drawings, sketches, and design data of parts to determine dimensions and configurations of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speed and feed rates according to machine shop processes, part specifications, and machine capabilities.
- Able to apply knowledge of the working properties of materials with CNC programming and knowledge to design and carry out the operations needed to make machined products that meet precise specifications.
- Able to cut away material from a solid block of metal, plastic, glass, or other materials to form a finished part.
- Able to perform setups on time
- Able to read micrometers and calipers
- Able to read program to determine G&M codes
- Able to set up tooling and operation of the machine
- Compare, and analyze the set-up sheet with the existing program sheet to assure accuracy of machine instructions.
- Complete quality paperwork accurately.
- Maintain good housekeeping of the working area.
- Must be able to determine reference points and direction of machine cutting paths.
- Observe the operation of the machine on a trial run to prove programmed instructions.
- Require knowledge of computers and electronics, computer numerical control, and basics of programming and computer-aided manufacturing.
