Job Profile
The company is hiring a Machinist who will operate 3-5-axis CNC machines and conventional mills and lathes to produce complex aerospace parts.
Demonstrate advanced cross-training flexibility including first part run and full machine recovery.
Run multiple machines.
Complete complex setups on 3-5 axis machines.
Able to apply advanced blueprint and GD&T reading to complex production inspection processes.
Responsible for editing programs and writing simple programs to make tooling.
Expected to troubleshoot issues that arise for complex parts.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred but not required)
Work Experience
- 4-6 years of experience
- Requires evidence of success in level two machining duties for at least 1 year before promotion or hire.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist in accurate and safe full machine recovery.
- Fully operate multiple machine platforms as needed, including CNC and conventional Mills and Lathes.
- Level one and two responsibilities apply to level three, with the following additional duties:
- Perform complex inspection tasks to validate and respond to dimensional requirements and specifications utilizing advanced GD&T and print reading abilities.
- Perform complex setups without assistance on several machine platforms, including 3 and 5-axis machines.
- Validate programs and the first part runs on the newly developed products.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Advanced ability in job setup and verification.
- Advanced competencies in machine platform operation to demonstrate cross-training flexibility, which includes operating conventional machines at a basic level.
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T and inspection processes.
- Basic CAD/CAM exposure
- Intermediate understanding of CNC programming, editing, and simple tooling creation.
- Machining troubleshooting skills applied to first-part runs and machine recovery.
- The position requires the ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
