Job Profile
The company (Boeing Commercial Airplanes-BCA) is looking for a Machinist C to join its team for a production environment to support the Boeing manufacturing facility.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED and typically 4 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent Combination of Education and experience (e.g. vocational School/Associate+2 years of related work, Bachelor, etc.)
Work Experience
- 4+ years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing environment
- Experience in a team environment
- Team Leadership (Formal/Informal) experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Be part of an environment of effective two-way communication (within the team and across departments or shifts).
- Ensure all parts are inspected before closing an operation so we do not pass on any defects to our downstream customers.
- Hand finish and edge break of aluminum, stainless, and titanium production parts.
- Hold ourselves and the team accountable to Boeing’s Behaviors and Values.
- Performs part detail assemblies, bushing install, honing, and final assembly of production parts.
- Performs part production and assembly with components and systems using established drawings, specifications, and requirements.
- Performs production part inspection with all manner of hand inspection tools during production.
- Performs set-ups and machining on 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC milling machines of production parts for 737, 767, 777 / 777x and 787.
- Proficient and knowledgeable in training with Fanuc or Siemens-controlled CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, CNC mill-turn machines, CNC boring Mills, and robotics.
- Support a culture that is committed to continuous improvement.
- Train lower-level qualified team members in manufacturing and assembly processes, equipment, standardized work, and part requirements.
- Use and lead BPSM or RPS to support real-time problem solving – stop work if/when required to find the true root cause.
- Utilize, follow, update, and create standardized work and step details required for production parts and assemblies.
- Function as a team to work together to meet daily performance targets and achieve higher levels of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Able to lift, push, and pull up to 35 pounds.
- Willingness to work variable shifts and overtime as needed to support production.
- Willing and able to work any assigned shift schedule
