Job Profile

The company is seeking a Machinist (CNC Lathe) who will read and work from blueprints, as well as program, set up, and operate CNC lathes or mills.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Experience

• 5 years of previous experience in a machine shop and three years of CNC machine operation.
• 1 to 3 years of formal training (vocation or technical school)
• Experience in Master Cam programming (a plus)
• CNC Vertical or Horizontal Machining Centers experience (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Edit and optimize CNC Lathe programs for efficiency.
• Machine basic fixtures, and tooling to meet machining requirements.
• Measure and examine completed parts to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Operate and rig material handling equipment (overhead cranes, gantries, forklifts).
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machine shop equipment.
• Set up and operate the CNC Lathe using programs generated in Master Cam.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to set up and operate CNC lathes.
• Familiar with Machine Shop Safety and OSHA requirements.
• Must have basic machinist’s tools for machine setup and inspection.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and machining techniques.
