Job Profile

The company is seeking a Machinist D who will operate a CNC lathe to make parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exact tolerances and dimensions.

Works under general supervision and following established instructions.

Performs assignments requiring general use and application of concepts, practices, and techniques.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior machinist experience
• 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior machinist experience.

Work Experience

• Possess work-related experience

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist in making estimates of the time and materials required to complete an assignment.
• Fabricate piece parts per work instructions, drawings, and specifications through the use of required machine tools.
• Inspect piece parts per work instructions and drawing requirements.
• Keep records and reports of the use of equipment.
• Operate machine tools and machine energetic materials remotely.
• Use, adjust, clean, and store tools, machinery, and equipment used.
• Work weekends and off-hour shifts to maintain the schedule as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Preferred Skills-

• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• Ability to work in a team environment and relate to all levels of employees
• Associate’s Degree in Machine Tool Technology
• Familiarity with machine tools and equipment, machine shop procedures and practices, principals, and properties desired
• Have a valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of basic mathematic principles to solve problems is preferred
• Manual/CNC experience
