Job Profile

The company is hiring a CNC Machinist I who will be responsible for setting up and operating various CNC Mill and Lathe Machines.

Expected to identify and use proper tools, gages, and equipment for the process.

Responsible for understanding various work processes and performing various machining operations within the CNC Machining group.

Educational Qualification

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution (required)

Work Experience

• Minimum 1 year of CNC Machine experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience interpreting engineering prints
• Minimum 1 year of machine setup experience, including tool touch-offs and fixture installation

Note: a signed apprenticeship contract in lieu of the above experience requirements

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist Quality and Engineering teams with problem-solving and troubleshooting
• Assist technicians with troubleshooting
• Download programs from the network system (DNC) into the machine
• Interpret print datum structure and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T)
• Maintain tolerances, inspection, and production standards
• Make offsets based on the inspection of parts in accordance to print specifications/instructions.
• Meet or exceed quality and quantity standards
• Operate multiple machines in machining work centers
• Proficient use of micrometers, calipers, indicators, and various other measuring instruments
• Set up, adjust, and operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned and follow general housekeeping (5S+) standard and autonomous maintenance tasks

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating Fanuc or Mazak controllers and editing G&M code
• Experience with operating Mazak, Doosan, Ganesh, or Hardinge machines
• Formal technical training or degree in manufacturing trades from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of CNC Machine experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience interpreting engineering prints
• Minimum of 2 years of machine setup experience, including tool touch-offs and fixture installation

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and any shift as needed
• Ability to learn and operate in multiple machine cells
• Ability to lift up to 44 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations
• Ability to operate all workstations effectively in the CNC Machinist group
• Ability to perform in a team matrix environment
• Ability to read and use drawings, routings, blueprints, specifications, part numbers, and other shop documents affecting this position
• Ability to stand, sit or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, and use a ladder up to 8 hours a day, occasionally up to 12 hours per day

Work Environment

• Must be able to walk/stand for an 8-hour shift with or without reasonable accommodations

• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the work location will be considered.
