Job Profile
The company is searching for a Maintenance Associate who will diagnose, repair, adjust, or maintain any industrial manufacturing machinery, such as sheet metal machines, engines, pneumatic tools, and conveyor systems in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturing specifications using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.
Perform facility/building maintenance, such as plumbing, maintain HVAC equipment and facility lighting
Install and complete construction projects
Able to communicate effectively and work as a member of a maintenance organization
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- Possess a minimum of 1-3 years of industrial maintenance experience, facility maintenance experience, or construction experience.
- Hands-on experience with all types of equipment controls and basic NESC, UL/ETL knowledge (including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.).
- Current material handling certification, Lockout/Tagout, Lifting and Rigging, preventive or predictive maintenance, or any journeyman/trades licensing (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
Electrical-
- Safely measure voltage, current, and power in AC/DC circuits.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot controls and electrical faults on machinery.
- Able to do basic wiring and understand wire gauges.
- Basic knowledge of NEC/UL codes.
- Able to use a computer and diagnostic software to diagnose electrical and automation problems.
Mechanical-
- Align, install, and maintain belt drives and pulleys; chain and sprocket drives; shaft assemblies; pillow block bearings; various couplings.
- Install/replace motors.
- Maintain all types of HVAC equipment. Basic knowledge of all types of refrigerant; charge/recover refrigerant, use refrigerant gauges, adjust VFD/controls, change filters, able to properly apply agency knowledge for HVAC equipment.
- Understand air and water systems
Pneumatic-
- Adjust and regulate pressures.
- Align, install, and maintain pneumatic lines/hoses.
- Check the operation of the water separator/drain in a pneumatic system, as necessary.
- Diagnose/repair compressors/vacuum pumps.
Plumbing-
- Able to troubleshoot and repair basic household plumbing issues such as clogs, leaks, sensors, and fixtures.
- Able to use a pipe threader.
- Basic pipe fitting knowledge (understands pipe sizes, fittings, thread types, etc.)
Hydraulic-
- Install, repair, and maintain pumps, hoses, valves, cylinders, filters, regulators, and seals.
- Understand fluid contamination prevention processes and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of metal materials, welding rods, and welding procedures.
- Able to recognize and use proper safety equipment used in welding.
- Able to recognize Mig and Tig welding equipment.
General Construction-
- Ability to do basic construction estimates/takeoff.
- Ability to do basic framing, mount sheetrock, and install ceiling grids and tiles.
- Ability to do basic industrial sanding, painting, and staining.
- Ability to do basic landscaping.
- Ability to use basic mathematical skills/calculations to support construction projects.
- Ability to use basic power tools safely.
- Ability to use measuring tape properly (both standard and metric).
Others-
- Able to regularly work in a dusty factory environment subject to extreme heat and cold temperatures.
- Must be able to work at heights exceeding 3 ft.
- Must be able to work well with others in a team environment to problem solve and provide backup as needed.
- Must conduct all work on-premises.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- A basic understanding of computers including Microsoft Office, such as Outlook, Word, and Excel and should know how to search, send electronic communication, find files, etc.
- Able to learn and use preventive maintenance software for scheduling and monitoring various equipment throughout the factory.
- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all applicable safety policies
- Perform and record preventive maintenance activities
- Read and understand electrical circuit diagrams
- Read and understand hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
- Read and understand mechanical drawings/blueprints
- Refill hydraulic system
- Replace air filters
- Replace faulty electrical control components
- Replace faulty electrical cords, plugs, or switches
- Requisition materials needed for a job
Work Environment
- Capable of working in elevated work areas
- Lift up to 50 pounds
