Job Profile
The company is hiring a Maintenance Electrician II who will maintain electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, with minimal supervision, by performing the following duties.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED; or 3-5 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Experience
- At least 8 years of hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair experience on a variety of machine tool types and brands, both modern and legacy.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assists with routine pyrometry work (i.e. thermocouple changes)
- Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair the plant lighting 480V, 207V, and 110V circuits; 480V cranes; PLC-based controls and relay logic circuits.
- Monitor furnace status and light furnaces.
- Monitor furnace status and light furnaces.
- Troubleshoots machine issues.
- Monitors furnace temperature uniformity surveys at the direction of the furnace survey team and maintenance supervision
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks on equipment
- Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
- Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction and make required repairs.
- Troubleshoot and maintain control systems. This includes all electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls.
- Troubleshoot and repair all AC and DC motors and controls, pressure sensing devices, voltage current, and resistance measurement devices.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the Company.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Electrician certification is required.
- Understanding of both manual and CNC equipment work and how to repair them.
- A strong knowledge of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic theory and application is a must as are work-class mechanical skills.

- Frequently is required to walk; sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently lift or move up to 35 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Occasionally exposed to airborne particles and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
