The company is looking for a Maintenance I to join its team.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
- Experience in an animal feed production facility or grain elevator environment (a plus)
- Previous mechanical or electrical maintenance (preferred)
- Technical training/equivalent experience in steam systems, drives, pneumatics
Duties/Responsibilities
- Document inspection and service activity as required
- Electrical, Hydraulic, Steam Systems Troubleshooting
- Perform scheduled maintenance inspections and lubrication on plant equipment
- Repair and replace equipment as needed
- Schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks
- Order and inventory parts and equipment as directed
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to handle exposure to variable temperatures as well as noise and dust conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and team lift heavier items.
- Ability to perform cutting, welding, and fabrication
- Ability to work at heights, don fall protection, drive a forklift, perform LOTO, etc. after training has been completed.
- Attend plant meetings and training as required.
- Availability to work overtime as needed
- Comfortable with basic computer navigation for use with HMIs and Operating systems.
- Follow all plant rules of conduct at all times.
- Housekeeping in the facility is to be performed according to the ADM Animal Nutrition, Springfield Plant Housekeeping plan. Other housekeeping duties are to be completed as assigned.
- Must be able to easily lift all materials, as the job requires. Lifting ability must be at least 55 pounds from the floor to a minimum height of 50 inches. Must be able to climb ladders.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager, Asst. Plant Manager, or Lead Person.
- Safely and efficiently operate all necessary equipment at all times (i.e. fork truck, etc) in a manner so as not to harm yourself, your fellow employees, and the equipment. Follow all established plant safety rules and Life Critical Standards.
- Train or communicate with operators on machine changes or operations as needed.
- Work and communicate with external contractors regularly. Ensure contractors are following facility and ADM safety rules.
- Work overtime as required and scheduled. The call-in schedule will be posted monthly and you may be called in to repair or troubleshoot production equipment overnight.
- Working knowledge of 3-phase 480-volt electrical systems
