Job Profile

The company is looking for a Maintenance Machinist who will maintain, and repair the facility and equipment involved in plant operations, including production equipment and machinery, material handling equipment, and building systems and structures.

Manufacture or repair all spare parts and required components for multiple proprietary high-speed paper converting machines.

Educational Qualification

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ability to adjust to the changing needs of maintenance and machine shop operations on a day-to-day basis.
  • Assist in making maintenance repairs to all machinery in the plant including some electrical repairs.
  • Broad knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
  • Determine proper specifications for inspection of work and be proficient using a full range of precision measuring and gauging tools.
  • Do all jobs and assignments in a safe and timely manner.
  • Fabricate parts from hand-drawn sketches, blueprints, and worn-out parts with no prints, help develop simple types of experimental and operating equipment, and hold required tolerances.
  • Knowledge of common metals, electrical materials, oils, greases and all other materials commonly required in equipment and building maintenance.
  • Knowledge of the maintenance and repair of machine shop tools and industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the machinist’s trade.
  • Must be able to work well with others while also being able to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Must have a rollaway toolbox and good quality personal tools required to do the job, however, some tools are provided by the company, and service of conventional machine tools such as engine lathe, drill press, surface grinder, horizontal milling machine, and vertical knee mill.
  • Perform all required inspections before, during, and after machining.
  • Plan repair procedures and select materials for the most efficient accomplishment of a job at hand.
  • Read blueprints, read wiring diagrams and general maintenance knowledge of all types of manufacturing and material handling equipment including high-speed packaging equipment.
  • Read, write, and use shop math including fractions and decimals.
  • Setup and use of Mig, Tig, and Arc welding equipment.
  • Set up, program, and operate CNC equipment.
  • Some knowledge of the carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades.
  • Use good judgment in requisitioning spare parts and materials to maintain an adequate supply.
  • Use a high degree of ingenuity in troubleshooting and solving all types of maintenance problems.
  • Performs other work as required in support of general maintenance and production activity.
