The company is searching for a Maintenance Mechanic to join its team.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or GED
• Technical school training or equivalent required (to include electronic and PLCs)

Work Experience

• 5 or more years of experience in maintenance required (to include a minimum of 2 years of experience in design, wiring, and troubleshooting of PLCs).

Duties/Responsibilities

• Capable of providing support as requested by the supervisor.
• Each employee has the authority to initiate action to prevent a violation of the Federal-Mogul Integrity Policy.
• Experience in installation and troubleshooting electrical components.
• Knowledge and ability to comprehend and complete projects as assigned by use of technical, physical, or mental attributes, as needed.
• Maintains all of the machinery involved in the production of our products in proper working order
• May be given certain authority within the job scope by the Supervisor or Manager
• Must be proficient in basic welding, use of shop equipment, piping, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Possesses the knowledge and ability to repair, design, adjust, or modify any mechanical equipment or structure as needed to carry on the daily business of the operation; and the ability to write and troubleshoot programs for Programmable Limit Controls (PLCs).
• Programming and troubleshooting PLCs.
• Repair, design, adjust, or modify mechanical equipment and associated machinery necessary for production in a modern stamping plant.
• Responsible for good housekeeping of work area and equipment.
• Responsible for proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste within ADEM requirements
• Thorough working knowledge of plant electrical distribution system.
• To keep production in operation and maintain the rest of the plant structure.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Requires use of shop math, formulas, and a wide variety of precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, schematics, prints, technical manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications is a must.

Work Environment

• Average work requires continuous physical effort
• Climbing, lifting, and bending (required)
• Continuous handling of oily or greasy material or use of coolants, water, flux, etc. (required)
• Must be able to lift heavy parts
• Must work with electricity and hydraulics
