Job Profile

The company is searching for a Maintenance Mechanic to join its team.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a High School Diploma
  • Must possess a valid Ontario Provincial Certificate of Qualifications as Maintenance Mechanic or Millwright.

Work Experience

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience within an industrial environment
  • Experience in the aluminum extrusion industry (an asset)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Able to do the lifting
  • Carry out day-to-day preventative maintenance checks
  • Complete assigned work orders
  • Continually update spare parts data
  • Effective troubleshooting and repair of extrusion equipment
  • Identify root and trend analysis, providing innovative solutions to resolve and remedy hydraulic and pneumatic issues
  • Learn extrusion processes from mechanics A/B
  • Maintain a safe work environment, complying with the Company’s Health and Safety guidelines
  • Pass on technical/mechanical information to the mechanical apprentice
  • Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance on all equipment related to production operations and building systems
  • Provide recommendations for continual improvements and maximize efficiencies
  • Report in SCS/Maintenance database completed work orders and equipment downtime
  • Respond to equipment breakdown calls
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple daily assignments with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read blueprints, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and welding drawings
  • Able to do basic welding and torching
  • Basic math skills
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of extrusion equipment (a definite asset)
  • Must read, write and speak English
