Job Profile

The company is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join its team.

Educational Qualification

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Associate Degree or Vocational Diploma which exhibits knowledge of the trade in the areas required by the position (desired but not required)

Work Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of previous experience, with an emphasis on machine troubleshooting and repair (as opposed to installation work)
  • Pennsylvania State Mechanical Journeyman Certificate

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Abide by all Safety regulations and policies
  • Maintain all plant production equipment and mechanical needs.
  • Meet all production standards and efficiencies focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost based on current routings/times
  • Must be able to learn basic booth programming for the GEMA paint booth.
  • Must be willing to work outside of your current Job Classification and Department as qualified and needed
  • Must wear all required PPE for any task/job currently being performed
  • Operate and service PLC-controlled paint line conveyor system.
  • Perform daily housekeeping tasks. Help maintain 5S standards in your work location and the whole department
  • Responsible for performing routine mechanical maintenance and PM maintenance work on all production equipment and facility power systems.
  • Rig or install new presses, welders, compressed air lines, and water feed/drain lines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair bearings, shafts, hydraulics, compressed air systems, and pneumatic systems.

  • Basic mathematical abilities (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
  • Basic mechanical abilities

  • Strong orientation toward – safety, quality, and continuous improvement demonstrated by a work history of safe performance, accuracy and attention to detail in the work performed, constructive problem solving and suggestions for improvement, ability to effectively implement or respond to change, punctuality, and consistent work attendance
  • The ability to identify and solve problems associated with manufacturing processes is critical.
  • Able to perform motor pump alignments, fan balancing, and bearing change-outs
  • Able to read, write, and understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change
  • Knowledge of PLC computerized systems
  • Must be able to use various measurement tools not limited to tapes, micrometers, calipers (all types), and protractors.
  • Proven safety skills around moving mechanical equipment
  • Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures, including those related to Safety
  • Understands blueprints and mechanical drawings
  • Understand hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Welding and fabrication abilities

Work Environment

  • Able to continuously grasp and reach, including overhead
  • Able to frequently walk, bend, climb, twist, stoop, kneel and squat
  • Able to handle frequent pushing and pulling
  • Able to lift, push, or pull up to 33 lbs. individually and up to 66 lbs. as a team
  • Able to stand continuously for 8 to 10 hours daily
  • Able to use hand for fine manipulations
  • Must be able and willing to work daily and weekly overtime as required
  • Will be working in a manufacturing plant with varying climate
