Duties/Responsibilities

• Maintain worn parts and equipment daily including welding, cutting, and torching
• Report to Yard Supervisor and submit a written report of conditions or repairs needed on a day-to-day basis to the Maintenance Manager for scheduling of personnel or materials
• Fill out a daily worksheet of accomplishments and fax to the maintenance office
• Review priority lists of repairs with the Maintenance Manager
• Assess repairs or materials with the manager before purchasing supplies
• Report issues with equipment in need of repair or abuse
• Perform other duties as required or assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Knowledge of electrical mechanisms (preferred)
• Knowledge of general construction procedures, mechanical knowledge, knowledge of loader machine signals
• Proficient skills in welding, cutting, and torching

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb heights of 50 feet regularly
• Ability to lift, carry, or pull 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Ability to work in dusty, loud noise environment
• Able to climb up and down on equipment
• Cannot be color blind
• Full use of hands and legs
• Required to wear safety equipment including a hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, steel-toed boots, ear plugs, respirator, gloves, and various other similar items as required.
