Job Profile
The company (Thyssenkrupp rothe erde USA) is searching for a Maintenance Mechanic who will perform electromechanical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair activities on equipment and facilities.
Education Level
- Possess a minimum 5-year journeyman status or technical degree certification from a college or technical school.
- Training and working experience must, at a minimum include CNC (Fanuc and Siemens), CNC electronic control devices, motors and drives, and high-voltage wiring and applications.
Work Experience
- Experience and knowledge of electrical/electronic principles.
- Experience with reading and interpreting drawings and schematics to perform troubleshooting and equipment diagnostic tasks.
- Possess a good understanding and have practical PLC programming and control logic diagnostic experience.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies. Use extreme care when exposed to high voltage and arch flash potential energy sources.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Skilled with the operation of overhead and jib cranes, scissor lifts, and bucket lifts.
- Skilled in performing PM tasks, completing PM work orders, lubricating, servicing fluids, taking oil samples, changing oils, filters, and proper disposal.
- Skilled in performing machine component maintenance tasks.
- Mathematical – Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, weight, temperature, velocity, circumference, material strength, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of algebra, trigonometry, physics, and geometry. Ability to convert numbers from decimal to binary, BCD, and hexadecimal and to identify typical discrete and analog inputs and outputs. Ability to convert units of measure, temperature, volume, energy, proportions, and pressure.
- Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Language – Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Computers and Electronics – The ability to utilize ACAD, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word software.
- Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate.
Export Control
- Requires access to export-controlled technical data or technology. Employment is contingent upon ThyssenKrupp’s ability to obtain any required export authorization from the appropriate government agency or agencies.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
- Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
