Job Profile

The company is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic I who will be responsible for performing basic preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools and assisting other members of the Maintenance Department in various machine/building repairs.

Education Level

• High School Diploma
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Work Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in machine repair and maintenance

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assists in the repair of woodworking machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools, and forklifts following diagrams, operating manuals, and manufacturer specifications
• If assigned to the Treating Department, perform duties consistent with hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practices
• Maintains a clean and organized work area
• Maintains records of repair and maintenance activities
• Orders supplies and parts as required
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings
• Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures
• Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled
• Performs regular, preventative maintenance on all machinery, equipment, tools, and building
• Prepares various reports as required
• Performs other duties as required

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and welding
• Working knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations
• Demonstrate working knowledge of hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practices
