Duties/Responsibilities

  • Adheres to the training program and any relevant training through the Operations Trainer.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Detect faulty operations and defective material, and report issues or unusual situations to the proper maintenance supervisor.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and adjust equipment.
  • Maintain production machines and facility equipment.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Perform mechanical skills, including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and foundry facilities.
  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Other responsibilities as dictated by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to work OT, off-shifts, & weekends
  • Basic computer entry skills
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatic, machine controls, welding, PLCs and electrical
  • Combustion processes, burners, valve trains, temperature controllers
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Electrical and electronic controls, troubleshooting, or programming
  • Health and Safety Standards and Compliance
  • Material handling, conveyors
  • Mobile equipment, including forklifts, wheel loaders
  • Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Electrical, Mechanical, or PLCs
  • Process Improvement Techniques
  • Refractory and furnace lining.
  • Strengths in teamwork, organization, communication, and efficiency.
  • Technical knowledge of equipment/machine processes.
  • Ventilation systems with 50-250 HP motor, Bag houses (dust collectors)
  • Welding and fabricating

Work Environment

  • Exposed to noise, dust, and mechanical hazards
  • Frequently uses hand and power tools
  • May need to lift heavy equipment and tools
  • Requires standing, bending, and climbing for long periods
  • Works indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
