Job Profile

The company is searching for a Maintenance Millwright who will ensure that all machines of the company are maintained and in proper working order.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a High School Degree in Mechanical aptitude and a complete understanding of Mechanical and Electrical procedures

Work Experience

  • Possess a minimum of 1-year experience in a similar position, or successfully completing a credited apprenticeship program

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisors and Managers
  • Assist in monitoring downtime/uptime and abide within the Department/Company goals
  • Follow Machine Safety Guidelines, and ensure proper lockout procedures are followed at all times
  • Maintain Preventive Maintenance Schedule
  • Maintain proper Company housekeeping standards
  • Must ensure all paperwork and logs are completed prior to shift end
  • Participate in any continuous improvement activities
  • Perform full diagnostics on equipment and advise Maintenance Supervisor or Purchasing Manager of parts required to perform necessary Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs
  • Physically maintain machines and equipment at MJ Manufacturing
  • Responsible to maintain company tools as required to fulfill duties
  • Support weekly production requirements

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to incorporate technical reports
  • Ability to read drawings, blueprints, specifications, and manuals
  • Basic knowledge of machining and welding
  • Good communicator in the English language, both written and oral
  • High level of time management
  • Knowledge of machine rigging procedures

Physical Demands

  • Constant communication with employees, peers, and management
  • Constant standing, walking, bending and lifting (light to heavy) and climbing
  • Overtime as required
  • Warm/Cold temperatures

Work Environment

  • 100% plant floor (PPE required)
  • Frequent distractions and interruptions
  • Multiple demands, challenging, fast-paced, team-orientated environment, can be noisy
  • Working in a plant environment

Health/Safety

  • Complete understanding and knowledge of lock-out, fall protection, and confined spaces procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies, and procedures.
