Job Profile
The company is searching for a Maintenance Person who will perform daily plant maintenance, including preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred); or 1 to 3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Work Experience
- Possess work-related experience (a plus)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Clean shop as needed
- Fabricates various items primarily from steel and cuts, heats, drills, and welds
- Follow all safety, GMP, plant rules and policies
- Performs boiler tests
- Performs daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks as per checklists
- Performs lubrication of plant equipment
- Performs plant electrical work with various voltages up to 440 volts 3-phase
- Repairs plant equipment
- Repairs plant piping with various diameters of pipe
- Replaces electrical motors ranging from fractional horsepower motors up to 200 HP or more
- Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Plant Manager
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Applying common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence
- Good mechanical ability and aptitude.
