Job Profile
The company is searching for a Maintenance Planner (Piping/Fixed Equipment) to join its team.
Education Level
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED. (Education must be obtained/completed before the start date)
Work Experience
- Must have at least 5 years of maintenance or operations experience in a refinery, petrochemical, or other heavy industry.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Act as a safety leader by participating in the current safety programs. Attend daily toolbox safety meetings and ensure MPC maintenance technicians and contract personnel actively participate in the safety programs.
- Analyze equipment history files and upgrade preventive and normal maintenance procedures, including task lists and bill of materials (BOMs).
- Confirm ordered material availability before work execution.
- Coordinate all craft requirements that involve other shops, departments, or resources.
- Estimate labor, material, and equipment for all maintenance activities to include man-hours, duration, material quantities, and costs for work requests.
- Follow the WO process dictated by the Marathon Routine Maintenance Standard.
- Identify any safety or environmental needs to support the successful execution of fieldwork.
- Identify maintenance scope and requirements, and work with Engineering to clarify standards and specifications as needed.
- Manage SAP planner group and ensure timely processing of work requests.
- Receive input from shop foreman and technicians as a continuous improvement on future job plans.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC Card.
- Must be able to read and interpret P&IDs, construction drawings, and piping isometrics.
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the refinery and be able to physically perform all tasks in the field and take hair drug tests and physicals. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, harness required scaffolds, and enter confined spaces.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft: Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must have working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Must have a valid driver’s license. (MPC determines valid status.)
- Travel Requirement is 5-10%
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 years in Refining maintenance or operations with time as a maintenance or turnaround planner is preferred.
- A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Process Technology is preferred.
- Strong SAP skills: Notifications, Work Orders, Scheduler, Material Masters, BOMs, and FLOC Creation are preferred.
- Understanding of repair and maintenance of piping and fixed equipment within a refinery is preferred.
- Understanding of welding procedures, NDE, and weld package requirements is preferred.
