Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Maintenance Supervisor who will be responsible for the management, training, scheduling, and development of maintenance personnel providing support to the Production/Processing areas.

Educational Level

  • Associate’s Degree (AA) or 2-year Technical Certificate in Mechanics and Electronics or a related field – College/University

Work Experience

  • 2 years of mechanical and electrical maintenance and supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure that product quality is maintained.
  • Assumes personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and, incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
  • Cooperates with all departments to ensure a coordinated work relationship exists at all times.
  • Creates work orders and PMs.
  • Encourages suggestions from employees that will improve production, quality, safety, or control costs of production.
  • Enforces company policies fairly and consistently.
  • Keeps accurate and up-to-date records (I.E. timecards, downtime records, absentee records, etc.)
  • Keeps manager informed on operating or employee problems that may require their attention or knowledge.
  • Production support in the Production/Processing areas.
  • Provides a safe work environment for employees.
  • Recognizes and takes steps to resolve operating problems to minimize their impact on the operations.
  • Management reports any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
  • Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products.
  • Responsible for installing new equipment.
  • Supervision of maintenance crew.
  • Troubleshoots problems with equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations. Ability to respond to questions from internal/external customers/vendors at all levels including management.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Able to supervise department personnel fairly and consistently.
  • Be able to recognize problem situations and take appropriate steps to resolve them.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanics, welding, electrical, fabrication, preventative maintenance, plant operations, and government safety regulations.
