Job Profile

The company is searching for a Maintenance Supervisor who will be responsible for managing labor requirements and maintenance (preventive, predictive, and unscheduled) of all mill equipment and machinery.

Leads maintenance teams with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Relies on leadership abilities, in conjunction with a continuous improvement/preventive maintenance mindset, to support and promote excellence as established in the company vision, mission, and values.

Education Level

Work Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of manufacturing experience as a Journeyman Millwright, Electrician, HD Mechanic, or Machinist
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Capable of supporting troubleshooting and observations of machine centers with shift supervisors and other maintenance staff to ensure production and quality standards are met;
  • Collaboration with Maintenance Planners in order to maximize craft efficiency, M&R materials are used as kits for scheduled outages, with the goal of being world-class.
  • Effectively communicating goals or instructions
  • Identifying potential causes of accidents, completing safety/housekeeping inspections, and resolving individual and team issues.
  • Managing the department cost in an aggressive manner, assuring optimum manufacturing unit cost, developing, and educating key metrics.
  • Participating in the development of the department budget and long-term budgeting and planning.
  • Planning and coordinating work with contractors to maximize uptime, reduce costs, and improve quality.
  • Planning work priorities for both day shift and shift tradesmen in conjunction with the production work teams.
  • Safety of the crew (Lock-Out Procedures, Field Level Hazard and Risk Assessments (FLHRA), Safety Audits)
  • The ability to facilitate the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Standard Operating Procedures by educating, training, monitoring, and proactively coaching team members.
  • Training/mentoring apprentices

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to work as part of a team and deliver value to the team
  • Leadership and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Willing and able to work on an emergency call-in basis as required

Work Environment

  • Exposed to noise, machinery, and varying weather conditions
  • May respond to emergencies outside regular hours
  • Oversees maintenance teams and schedules repairs
  • Splits time between office work and on-site inspections
  • Works in industrial, commercial, or residential facilities
