Job Profile
The company is searching for a Maintenance Tech I who will complete preventative maintenance operations and repair work for edible bean/seed facilities in the area.
Responsible for helping maintain dry edible and seed bean processing, treating, and packaging equipment as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and facility management. The equipment must be kept in a manner to meet the safe, and successful day-to-day operational activities while maintaining a sanitary workplace in compliance with company policies and regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, QA, etc.).
Education Level
- Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus
Work Experience
- 3-5 years of experience as a maintenance technician in an agricultural or industrial processing environment
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple assignments/ tasks
- Actively participate in all installation, repair, and upkeep of equipment within the facilities in conjunction with facility management
- Assist in updating, developing, and implementing maintenance programs/procedures
- Carry out inspections of equipment to identify and resolve issues in alignment with Preventive Maintenance Plans.
- Collaborate on required reports and maintain all necessary records and documentation related to predictive/preventative maintenance, planning, and scheduling for the facilities
- Demonstrate basic welding layout and fabrication skills.
- Effectively and efficiently troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed
- Ensure Health and Safety policies are complied with
- Hydraulic, pneumatic, and vibration monitoring knowledge is a plus.
- Maintain food safety standards following the Quality Assurance program.
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
- Monitor expenses, and assist facility management in controlling maintenance budgets.
- Work cooperatively and communicate effectively with production, administrative, sales, and management teams
- Assist in completing operational tasks at the facilities when required
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Inter-personal skills include handling conflict, motivation, instructing, and training personnel respectably and fairly.
- Must demonstrate high-level problem-solving and teamwork skills
- Solid understanding of the technical aspects of industrial agricultural processing equipment, fabrication/welding, and electrical systems.
- Strong self-motivation, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Work Environment
- Operates around the clock so the Maintenance colleague will be on call 24/7 during peak processing seasons and may be called into work for after-hour emergencies.
- Occasionally be required to work at times other than normal business (day shift) hours and weekends to accommodate plant needs; i.e. training, shutdowns, peak receiving, processing, and shipping seasons.
- Prolonged periods of standing and sitting, working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, working in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc.), lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted, wearing a respirator.
