Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Maintenance Technician who will minimize machine downtime due to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic failure.

Minimize machine downtime through preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-year certificate from a college or technical school and 2 years of related experience or training.

Work Experience

  • Possess an equivalent combination of education and experience (required)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assists and trains machine operators on how to set up machines, proper lubrication, etc.
  • Builds custom parts on demand.
  • Handles all general facility maintenance issues.
  • Identifies and repairs potential machine problems before causing unscheduled downtime.
  • Maintains parts inventory to ensure the majority of parts are available for emergency machine repairs.
  • Moves and constructs any equipment new or old as needed.
  • Performs all preventative maintenance.
  • Performs emergency machine repairs in the most expeditious manner to minimize downtime.
  • Performs light carpentry work as needed.
  • Performs light fabrication which involves layout, machining, cutting, and welding various metals.
  • Troubleshoots motors, pumps, compressors, and any other systems in the plant.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to use basic algebra and geometry to calculate figures and amounts.
  • Must be able to maintain good attendance.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Must be certified in various types of welding.
  • Must be reliable and dependable.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
  • Must have a high sense of urgency to get projects accomplished quickly.
  • Must have the ability to use hand tools, power tools, welders, torches, mill, lathe, press, grinders, mechanics, and machinist tools.
  • Must have acute troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have excellent communication and people skills.
  • Must have the ability to meet or pass the minimum requirement on a mechanical test or have demonstrated mechanical aptitude through prior work experience.
  • Must pass color hue test.
  • Must pass a color vision test.

  • Required to sit, stand, walk, drive, talk, see, and hear
  • Required special vision requirements
  • The noise level that is typical for the work environment of this position is Loud (for example, machinery) and Very Loud (for example, jackhammer or construction work).
