Job Profile
The company is seeking a Maintenance Technician who will perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance, and monthly safety checks, make repairs and modifications to equipment, and repair the facility as needed.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- Possess 3+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment or equivalent higher education
- 1+ years of experience with electronic and PLC-based applications in an industrial environment or equivalent higher education
- 3+ years of experience with electrical and mechanical systems in an industrial environment or equivalent higher education
- 3+ years of experience with tools, procedures, and methods utilized in an industrial maintenance environment or equivalent higher education
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist with the root cause and breakdown analysis
- Communicate effectively with team members and internal customers
- Complete work as assigned to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely repairs to production equipment
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of plant safety rules, safe working methods, and good housekeeping practices
- Ensure all data related to preventative and corrective maintenance activities is correct and documented
- Ensure that all guards and safety devices for the equipment are operational and the piece of equipment is safe to return to service
- Manage assigned inventory to acceptable levels
- Participate in continuous improvement of the preventative maintenance program
- Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance, and monthly safety checks, and make repairs and modifications to equipment and facilities
- Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC electrical systems, read schematics, and use electrical testing equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical motors, timers, transformers, and controls
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install pneumatic and hydraulic systems, control valves, centrifugal, and positive displacement pumps
- Work with Programmable Logic Controls and preventative maintenance CMMS systems
- Other duties as assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to electrically troubleshoot equipment and PLCs
- Able to work in difficult situations such as confined spaces, heat, and in high places
- Certificate in Industrial Electrical/Electronic or Industrial Maintenance Technology from Joliet Junior College or equivalent
- Experience in a TPM and Lean Environment
- Experience in pumps, welding, bearings, electrical safety, forklifts, gears, hydraulics, valves, utilities, water treatment, sustainability, alignment, and rigging
- Formal vocational training in plant maintenance activities with emphasis on industrial applications or equivalent job experience in electricity, power distribution, industrial electrical wiring, mechanics, machine operations, general plumbing, heating ventilation and air conditioning, boiler operations
