Job Profile

The company is searching for a Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and installing equipment for our surface mining operations.

Education Level

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience

• Previous maintenance experience (preferred)
• Heavy equipment operations or military experience (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Clean work areas
• Collaborate with team members to repair and move machine parts for equipment or transport materials between work areas
• Disassemble machines and remove parts for repairs using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, or hoists
• Inspect equipment for signs of wear
• Lubricate machines, machine parts, or other equipment according to standards
• Notify supervisors of needed repairs
• Participate in safety programs and training, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
• Perform welding and fabrication activities as needed
• Proper wear of personal protective equipment
• Tend to equipment such as conveyors to move materials through production processes
• Work in a team environment

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use, and maintenance
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations

Physical Abilities

• Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
• Ability to work in elevated areas
• General physical activities including climbing stairs, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, and handling materials
