The company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join its team.
Educational Qualification
- May require a High School Diploma
- 2-year college or technical program or equivalent experience (preferred)
Work Experience
- Prior Maintenance experience
- Forklift certification or experience to obtain
Duties/Responsibilities
- Dismantle machinery to perform repairs, and detect wear, misalignment, and other problems. Reassemble machines, make all necessary adjustments, and test operations.
- Establish and maintain relationships with outside maintenance and service vendors.
- Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to equipment.
- Immediately report any injury or incident to a supervisor regardless of significance.
- Inspect PPE and safety equipment before use, and report any PPE or equipment in a broken, worn, or not ready-for-use status.
- Manage preventive maintenance program, including recordkeeping and recommended scheduled maintenance.
- May prepare written specifications for major repairs or production of parts; make up bill of materials, select proper materials, tools, and equipment and complete requisitions for same.
- Participate in safety initiatives like observations, near misses, and safety committees.
- Perform general facility repairs, including but not limited to building, grounds, lighting, and plumbing.
- Prioritize equipment maintenance requests with the Plant Manager.
- Replace broken or defective parts on equipment or facility as required. Ensure quality of repairs performed.
- Report to work in a fit for duty and ready to work condition daily.
- Troubleshoot, install, repair, and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components of equipment adhering to lockout tagout procedures and other safety guidelines.
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to perform varied welding functions to include Stick, MIG, and Plasma Cutter. Understand different types of Welding Rod/Wire/Shielding Gas.
- Ability to understand equipment and tool drawings.
- Automotive Preventative Maintenance skills are preferred.
- Knowledge of machine theory, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, pipefitting, and machine design. Knowledge of both Gas and Diesel-powered engines and drive trains.
- Knowledge of machinery and support systems according to manufacturer’s guidelines/specifications/ manuals.
- Some computer experience is required (MS Office preferred).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to work extended and weekend shifts, when needed.
- Must have excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, and knowledge of the use of mechanical/pneumatic tools, measuring equipment, automated systems, and forklifts.
