Job Profile
The company is looking for a Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining all industrial processing equipment and production machinery.
Responsible for repairing and maintaining rolling stock and facilities.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment for all employees and customers complying with organizational and OSHA safety standards, procedures, and regulations.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
Work Experience
- Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance or heavy equipment experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Actively participate in the plant safety program and Safety Committee.
- Attend daily shift meetings to prioritize daily tasks and minimize downtime.
- Compliance with WestRock safety rules.
- Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing metrics.
- Knowledge of and compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area at all times.
- Maintain parts and tool inventory.
- Make safety a priority at all times.
- A minimum of 40 hours per week is required for this position and is subject to change to longer hours due to a project or task that is scheduled.
- Perform preventative maintenance according to company PM system and manufacturer’s specifications.
- Repair and maintain rolling stock and facilities.
- Safely operate rolling stock, power tools, and hand tools.
- Source replacement parts and perform repairs.
- Troubleshoot and maintain motors, conveyors, electrical systems (if qualified), pneumatic tools, and hydraulic equipment.
- Perform other job duties as needed.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Advanced understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics.
- Alert, focused and detail-oriented.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems.
- Capable of operating hand, power, and specialty tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Must be able to maintain good attendance.
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to perform and train with hot work such as welding, cutting, brazing, and grinding.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, and equipment manuals.
- Must have the ability to operate various pieces of rolling stock.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
- Physically and mentally fit.
- Team player and willing to work with minimal supervision.
