Job Profile

The company is hiring a Maintenance Technician who will support manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all facilities and manufacturing equipment safely and professionally.

Education Level

  • Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years documented Industrial Maintenance Department experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing environment, automotive experience (preferred)
  • Experience in the use of forktrucks and aerial lift devices (required)
  • Journeyman certification (preferred but not required)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ability to be flexible in working traditional and non-traditional work hours, as required
  • Assist in plant and departmental attainment of safety, quality, productivity, and financial goals
  • Attend and complete all required training necessary to ensure skill level growth as well as current compliance requirements from MIOSHA, NEC, JIC, and DNR
  • Must perform the job with acceptable safety, environmental, quality, productivity, and performance standards as outlined in plant policies, handbooks, and applicable work instructions
  • Respond to all maintenance-related requests with a prompt, professional, courteous, and willingness to help demeanor
  • Setup, installation, and commissioning of machinery to support inner plant moves and new launches
  • Support facilities maintenance and continuous improvement activities that may include fabrication, welding, lift truck use, or aerial lift use
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and PM plant production equipment, systems, and facilities following all regulation guidelines, maintenance best practices, and lessons learned
  • Use, maintain, and manage the Maintenance CMM system for work orders and PM’s
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of how job performance affects product quality
  • Ability to maneuver and adjust robot programming on primarily Fanuc, KUKA, and Panasonic robots in a robot welding and material handling setting
  • Ability to read and comprehend electrical prints, hydraulic schematics, and PLC ladder diagrams
  • Ability to read, interpret, and prepare written reports, instructions, and procedures
  • Ability to use computers for email and related Maintenance productivity software
  • Ability to work well with others and establish and maintain positive working relationships
  • Demonstrated understanding of machine electrical systems and basic troubleshooting procedures

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds
  • Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, turning
  • Will be in tight areas, expected to reach and service equipment from various angles

Work Environment

  • Operate shop support power tools (roto-hammers, bandsaws, drill presses, welders)
  • Use common hand tools (hammers, saws, screwdrivers, wrenches, and similar tools)
  • With the use of proper PPE some tasks will require handling and servicing filters that contain weld dust, dirt, and general airborne contaminates
  • With the use of proper PPE, some tasks will require handling greases, lubricants, detergents, paints, solvents, and other industrial liquids
  • Work in both hot and cold environments, and be on your feet for long periods
  • Working at elevated heights greater than ten feet with proper PPE (Example: working in a bucket truck, aerial lift device, ladder)
