Job Profile

The company is seeking a Maintenance Technician who will perform maintenance activities in a manufacturing facility, such as preventative maintenance, chemical handling, operating small equipment and power tools, plumbing, and assisting in safety projects.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of related manufacturing or similar proven experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Communicate efficiently and effectively with others.
  • Complete assignments in an orderly and expeditious manner by taking vital safety precautions as well as understanding and adhering to established company/departmental policies.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and machinery repairs.
  • Demonstrate a detailed knowledge of plant production or support equipment, and related processes.
  • Demonstrate dedication to excellent customer support.
  • Encourage and own a safe work environment.
  • Evaluate and recommend equipment improvements to improve availability, capability, and yield.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, company safety programs, and OSHA regulations to eliminate work-related injuries.
  • Foster a working partnership through listening and understanding needs.
  • Open to feedback and motivated to grow outside the comfort zone.
  • Operate manual and power hand tools.
  • Optimally solve the targeted problem.
  • Perform highly complex equipment and system maintenance or modification tasks independently and in work teams.
  • Perform plumbing, soldering, and minimum welding activities for the facility.
  • Practice Lean principles and participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
  • Produce high-quality work and services.
  • Use technical tools/software.
  • Work cooperatively with others and achieve outcomes.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment and have exposure to high noise decibels, hot raw materials, fire-retardant materials, and limited chemical products.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to lift heavy products or raw materials up to 50 pounds multiple times per hour during an 8-hour shift or longer in overtime situations to meet customer demand.  Heavy loads must be team-lifted.
  • Ability to maintain focus on safety while working in a fast-paced work environment, including maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Ability to perform at a high level in both a team environment and individually.
  • Ability to stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day or longer in overtime situations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to complete a variety of manual/technical work to include plumbing, welding, general facility maintenance, etc.
  • Demonstrated mechanical competence, ability to complete machine repairs, and ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Effective organization and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience using hand tools and power equipment.
  • Experience using PC and Microsoft Office.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Protective Equipment is required to be worn for any hazards and is supplied by the company.
  • Strong analytical and technical ability to problem solve.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime and call out hours, including weekends needed.
